In recent decades, during which humanity has undergone several crises of different nature, the global economy has been growing at an annual rate of 3.5%

This growth rate leads to economic and social changes, resulting, for example, in improved living conditions for a wide range of people, an increased purchasing power and greater access to basic goods and services. These changes also bring challenges at an energy, environmental and cultural level, which we will explore in future GATE Center analyses.
