Meeting with his excellency Yao Jing, Ambassador of China in Spain: «China and the Global South»

In this second “GATE Dialogue,” H.E. Yao Jing, Ambassador of China to Spain, will explain China’s foreign policy and its relations with the Global South in an international context marked by a significant power shift from the West to Asia-Pacific. China has forged multiple alliances with countries and regions of the Global South and leads the BRICS group, which expanded its membership from five to ten and constitutes an important pillar in a world undergoing transformation. Moreover, in December 2025, China published its third strategy toward Latin America, a region where it shares a growing presence with the United States, the EU, and Spain.

The dialogue aims to offer an  in depth analysis of China’s foreign policy and South-South cooperation and its ties with Asia, Africa, and Latin America, in order to understand China’s medium- and long-term objectives and visions.
